A lot of questions pop up when signing up for a yoga retreat. Which is totally understandable! It’s a big step-and usually involves traveling across the world. Here is why I am a huge advocate for joining yoga retreats and some experiences that I took away from my very first retreat and trip out of the country. Just go for it!
Snow always seems to grace us here in the PNW in February. Last week I was a busy girl hiking to Lake 22, Lake Serene, and Mount Storm King. So here’s a quick little post catching up on all my adventures around here in Washington since I moved back from Portland. Have a day without rain in the forecast? Looking for a perfect date night adventure movie? When I am not able to get outdoors, or stuck inside with a cold, I try to find something to watch that will keep my wanderlust and inspiration alive. Here are some of my favorite movies to watch cuddled up at home while you are waiting for your next adventure!
Here are three of the best healthy spots to eat on the North Shore. Food trucks, coconut bullet coffee, papaya bowls, açaí bowls, and more! The Sunrise Shack is seriously incredible. All of the fruit and food there is super fresh and mostly everything is vegan—makes for a happy girl. Haliewa Bowls is an Acai Wonderland. It’s hard to decide when you get there what you want to try, but know this: everything is tasty!
Sunrise Destination? Lanikai Pillbox Hike. Living close to Wahiawa, we had a short travel distance towards Kailua, which is only about a 35-minute drive in the morning if you can beat the traffic. Sunrise hikes are always worth the sleepy eyes and grumpiness for the first 10 minutes of the day, I swear.
After having been trekking before in Nepal and back in the US, I set my bar high while on the Salkantay Trek with Killa Expeditions. Even though it seemed impossible, they seemed to raise that bar. We had a large group to accommodate for—13 to be exact!—and before this trip I had only known Maria and Chaniel through instagram.
