This Cinco de Mayo was one for the books! My friend Mikaela came down to stay and celebrate with some tacos at Porque No? and then we had a grand hangover hike for Seis De Mayo. We were a little disfunctional, and really muddy. But it was all worth it!
We were 9 days deep into the Himalayas. Hiking on average about 6 hours a day. And on April 11th, 2017 I was 17,598ft in the sky, at the base of the largest mountain in the world. I celebrated with my wonderful group of trekking partners and our two guides I met from Himalayan Wonders. We all had made it. How, you ask? A strong combination of desire, jokes, and knowing what to pack.
I wanted to write a travel guide with things I wish I would have read before we decided to live in Paris for a month in Winter. Among many things, we learned that we really suck at speaking French, but that the people here are better than you might think. (Regardless of how disappointed we we're with the food options...)
A little intro to why and how I got started traveling, starting with backpacking in New Zealand. Traveling is different than vacationing, something you realize when you are on a ferry ride in the middle of the Andaman Sea between Phuket and Krabi, CLEARLY lost. (But still thoroughly enjoying every minute of it)
