Reminiscing on Spring

WOW. White pants, picnics and sunshine.

What can be better? Miles and I used to go pick up lunch to go from our favorite restaurants in town and then bring our chilren (cats) out on a blanket and get some sunshine right in his front yard. It was incredibly easy, and requires hardly any effort!

Not Your Average Adventures: Fun Date Ideas for the Couples That Have Done It All

bloggraphic

bloggraphic

This blog was created for both myself and YOU.

I love adventure. Excitement. (Who doesn't?!) I think it's so easy to get comfortable in your life, whether it be regarding work, education, and in turn– relationships. But there is so much adventure in love. This is my attempt to share ideas with anyone who is stuck, complacent, or just lost and to prove that there is MORE to dating than dinner and a movie.

I hope that you feel inspired by my ideablog and photo journey.

Happy life!

Being Blonde in the Lake Stevens Summers

Maybe blondes do really have more fun? As I am looking back on my iPhoto library, I am really missing summer. People seem happier, weather is nicer, etc. But I know this summer will be amazing. It's going to top them all. Graduation. 21. and then hopefully a whole shift change of adventures in Australia by 2015. In the meantime, here is me reminiscing on my blonde days. Including but not limited:

  • Dancing in my front yard, trying to do cartwheels, tanning and drawing with chalk

  • Heading to Debuke River to have a campfire and fall asleep under the stars

  • Tradition: Ixtapa dates with friends visiting

  • Eating pizza. Enough said.

  • Index Mountain (Secret) Hike

  • Three Lakes in Snohomish, Wa

Being a Tourist in Seaside, OR

Being a Tourist in Seaside, OR

Seaside OR is a beautiful little tourist trap that you have to experience just for the swing sets on the beaches. I haven't found a better place. (but i'm all ears!) Probably the funniest memories ever captured was when we went on this ride that is on the main road in town with his niece and we were trying to make funny pictures at his mom. I think it's important to do play the tourist at least once in your life. Who wants to be that person who finds the worst in things?

Reviewing the Past: (Attempting) Fishing

I was lucky enough to grow up on Lake Stevens. I never truly appreciated this until recently, when I got to spend my springs and summers relaxing directly on the lake. (Below is Pilchuck on a brilliant sunny day, and when the sun sets behind the hill)

So two summers (?) ago, we decided to try to take advantage of my dad's fishing poles and caught-and-release all summer. The struggle of trying to keep on on your line is a fun challenge. Miles always caught more than me, but I absolutely hated

a) putting worms on hooks

b) taking fish OFF hooks.

This didn't turn into a tradition, nevertheless it was a fun relaxing thing to do when the weather permitted.

Reviewing the Past: Bridal Veil Falls, WA

This was our fathers day hike last year. I skipped the part where they decided to go explore some dark creepy caves, but I was certainly blown away with the size of these waterfalls.

visit http://www.wta.org/go-hiking/hikes/lake-serene for directions. I love wta.org because you can see photos and tips from other (far more) experienced hikers in the PNW.

Reviewing the Past: Art Museum

If you're from Seattle, you probably have already visited SAM. I always like visiting either on one of those rare 90 degree days for the free air conditioning, or on a wetter day when you want to get out of the house. But did you know that the Seattle Art Museum– as well as most arts organizations–have a free entry day the 1st Thursday of every month? I am a big fan of having fun, but doing it for free is an even better thing in my book.

You can also check out the free art walk in Seattle's historic Pioneer Square neighborhood, takes place from noon to 8PM on the First Thursday of every month. visit http://www.firstthursdayseattle.com/ for more information.

Seen below is work from Rothko & Do Ho Suh.

Beyond Dinner and a Movie

My idea for this blog came from the questions I used to always receive on my tumblr after I would post what I did with my boyfriend over the weekend. We dated for two and a half years, and are still on good terms. Which is a good thing considering a lot of my ideas here will include adventures that we went on together. In more recent posts, I will be posting about dinners that I loved, dates that go horrible (hopefully a minimal amount), and great adventures that I go on with the best people in my life– my friends and family.

Will there be reviews on dinners and movies? Probably. But I challenge myself and any of you who are reading to break the habit and do the silly, out-of-the-ordinary, embarrassing, terrifying things that you wouldn't think to do with someone.

Welcome to helloadventureco.
