I hit the trails with some awesome ladies to celebrate Miss Annie's Birthday! We took our time heading up to Goat Lake, where we caught some sun breaks and had way too much fun sampling each other's snacks and drinks.
If you ever find yourself exploring the North Island of New Zealand, please promise me you will visit my favorite town I ever stumbled into. Raglan was one of those places that wasn't on my "plan" when I was mapping out where I wanted to travel to, but I'm so glad I ended up here. We spent a weekend filled with Good George Beer, Fish and Chips Takeaways, and new card games.
If you can't tell, I'm missing travel like crazy. I would give almost anything to be back in the southern alps with these stunning views. #newzealandfeelin is something I wanted to start for adventurers of all stages to collect inspiration for future travels, or if you just want to relive your favorite memories. Share with me your favorite photos and help cure my wanderlust. 🙏🏼
Just before you reach Steven's Pass in the upcoming months, I recommend you stop in the town of Index. Drive slow, stop at the stop sign, and if you see someone outside their house, wave! I have a soft spot for this hike because it's not something you find on WTA or crawling with hipsters. It's a trek to get up the wall, but worth the view.
Thank you Will for taking some awesome photos of us :)
We started this hike to the falls before we realized the lake was frozen and looked tempting. Dont worry, no one fell in : )
This weekend was purely brilliant and I am still in a daze from it. I packed completely wrong and slept most of the car ride, while the boys jammed to heavy metal and rock music. (I'm a very heavy sleeper.) Nevertheless here are some great photos on the drive up there. We stopped quite a few times to take some photos. (Okay, maybe more than a few) I also got to try out my new Olloclip, which is so neat! It's a lens you attach to your iphone to take fisheye, macro, and wide angle shots. Really highlights the beautiful camera power that Apple has designed. Here is a photo of me using it:
And here are some shots I liked:
Our next stop was near spokane area, right off the highway the sun was going down and we found brilliant shadows created by the trees. These are some of my favorite shots, ever.
This is my glamorous friend, Nick.
I'll post our adventures that we had when we got to Montana later on. In the meantime I am still trying to locate all my essentials that got lost in Pete (the rabbit) on the car ride back home. This was after as we were leaving. Pretty huh?
NOT the typical things you imagine of when you hear Los Angeles. Runyon Canyon is a purely awesome experience that I recommend to add to your bucket list.
Of course we did do the typical things too.
Shopping on Melrose Lunch in Beverly Hills
I'll have to make a seperate post about Anaheim, Ca and meeting my favorite disney princess... but just on that topic:
(I was tearing up!)
Maybe blondes do really have more fun? As I am looking back on my iPhoto library, I am really missing summer. People seem happier, weather is nicer, etc. But I know this summer will be amazing. It's going to top them all. Graduation. 21. and then hopefully a whole shift change of adventures in Australia by 2015. In the meantime, here is me reminiscing on my blonde days. Including but not limited:
Dancing in my front yard, trying to do cartwheels, tanning and drawing with chalk
Heading to Debuke River to have a campfire and fall asleep under the stars
Tradition: Ixtapa dates with friends visiting
Eating pizza. Enough said.
Index Mountain (Secret) Hike
Three Lakes in Snohomish, Wa
This was our fathers day hike last year. I skipped the part where they decided to go explore some dark creepy caves, but I was certainly blown away with the size of these waterfalls.
visit http://www.wta.org/go-hiking/hikes/lake-serene for directions. I love wta.org because you can see photos and tips from other (far more) experienced hikers in the PNW.
