Sunrise Destination? Lanikai Pillbox Hike. Living close to Wahiawa, we had a short travel distance towards Kailua, which is only about a 35-minute drive in the morning if you can beat the traffic. Sunrise hikes are always worth the sleepy eyes and grumpiness for the first 10 minutes of the day, I swear.
The Eagle Cap Wilderness is the largest wilderness area in Oregon. It's basically in Idaho and in the middle of nowhere. The trailhead is also about 8 hours from Portland, so Logan (@her.oregon.life) recommends you give yourself at least 3 days to enjoy the mountains here when you come.
We were 9 days deep into the Himalayas. Hiking on average about 6 hours a day. And on April 11th, 2017 I was 17,598ft in the sky, at the base of the largest mountain in the world.
