Koosah and Sahalie Falls–One of the Many Reasons to Love Oregon

Today was 💯🔥🚨. All the silly emojis.

Actually, this entire weekend was one for the books. My friend Mikaela came down to stay and celebrate Cinco De Mayo, and then we had a grand hangover hike for Seis De Mayo. We were a little disfunctional, and really muddy. But it was all worth it! I took her to Porque No, a very popular Mexican spot in Portland, for good reason. Their menu is as good as it gets, with delicious flavors like spicy chipotle rubbed chicken or spicy serrano shrimp, salsa, and pineapple. There’s always a line - but it’s worth the wait! We had a good celebration.

And yes, if you noticed. I do have a a tacosaurus tattoo.

Besides our taco debaucheries, we also filmed around PDX. I wanted to apply to be a WOW Travel Guide and the goal was to create a two minute video of your hometown. I moved to St. Johns back in March and wanted to share how special it was. So we explored Cathedral Park, the St. John Bazaar, and then jumped on Highway 224 East and explored Koosah and Sahalie Falls. This was on Mikaela’s list after Chelsea Kauai made us lust over this beautiful location. Since then, I have really started to consider my sustainability efforts and using leave no trace principals. I made a vow to myself that staying on established trails is really important to keeping beautiful places like this intact, and keeping people safe.
